Super Service Saturday Q/A

How do I register?
Follow the steps listed on this page Super Service Saturday 2023 | KU Center for Community Outreach

Where will we be meeting?
Check in will be at the Kansas Union Ballroom beginning at 10:00 AM. During this time, you will get your free food and t-shirt!

I’m volunteering in-person; how am I supposed to get to the volunteer site?
We’ll provide transportation! All groups will have a bus that will take them to and from their volunteer site.

What do I need to bring?
For clothing, we do recommend wearing clothes toed shoes. Additionally, you should bring a water bottle since many of the sites will be outside. Some students may also be more comfortable wearing long pants since some of the sites may require you to do work on your knees.

I want to be grouped with specific people. How do I do that?
When you register on volunteer.ku.edu you will have the option to register as a group. Have one member of your group select this registration option and list each member that wants to be put together. Only one person needs to do this on volunteer.ku.edu, but each person must still RSVP individually on Rock Chalk Central. From there, we will make sure to place you in the same volunteer group!

How do I submit my hours for verification on Super Service Saturday?

After volunteering on the day of SSS, be sure to record your hours online! Log back into volunteer.ku.edu with your KU ID and password, click your initials in the top right corner of your page and on the drop down menu, select “Track Hours.” On this page, you’ll scroll down to where it says “Hour Type.” Here you will select “Yes” and indicate the ongoing need you were registered for, titled [IN-PERSON].

On the next box over where it says “Hour Details,” you will put “08/27/2022” for the date as well as input how many hours you volunteered for (2). After filling this information, select “Submit Hour Entry” at the bottom of the page.
