Service Opportunities

Interested in volunteering in the Lawrence community over the summer? Here are a few opportunities to check out:
  • Visit volunteer.ku.edu to see all available opportunities through the Center for Community Outreach and other community nonprofits
  • The Campus Cupboard is open every Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. over the Summer, click here to sign up for a shift to help run KU’s food pantry
  • The KU Campus Garden, run by CCO’s EARTH program, will be having work days sporadically over the summer, see volunteer.ku.edu for availability
  • After the Harvest needs volunteers to help glean, or collect crops after harvests in fields around Lawrence
  • Community retirement facilities and memory care homes are often looking for weekly volunteers. Check out Neuvant House or email hug@ku.edu for more opportunities
  • Make an account and check out the United Way of Douglas County’s volunteer needs here
